I wanted to pass on a simple trick I’ve learned that really helps me move forward when I’m stuck.

It’s useful when you think you’re stuck (like in a job you hate), when you’re having struggles in a relationship or with a co-worker, when something unplanned happens that derails you, or when you’re having to learn something new – or a lot of things new, like I am right now.

I’m in the middle of developing a new program called THRIVE to help people move forward to create careers and lives they love  The process is really stretching me, so I’ve had to use this trick a lot recently.

I’m really excited about THRIVE, but there are a LOT of moving pieces, and a lot of TECHNICAL pieces to it (so not my thing), and it is not hard for me to slip into overwhelm and get stuck.

Can you relate?

I’ll start thinking that I have so much to do and start focusing on the things I don’t know how to do.  (Yet! That one little word is so important to always tack on – more on that another day.)

Here’s what I’ve learned about getting unstuck:

>>> Ask yourself HOW?

How might I figure out how to xyz?

How could I see this as an opportunity?

How might I forgive him/her?

How could I possibly pull this off?

>>> The word HOW flips the script and gets your brain moving.

When you think “I don’t know” you create overwhelm and get stuck.

>>> When you ask HOW you allow your brain to see the possibilities.

Then take one small step – any step – towards the objective, what you’re trying to figure out or do.

>>> Action creates clarity.

You start figuring it out when you take the action.

Keep asking HOW and keep taking small steps – one how and one step at a time.

Give it a try today and let me know how it goes!

To your success-

Blessings,

Jenny
